[3.3.x] Support Forum • fsockopen function > 3.3.14 (disabled)

After the update from 3.3.13 > 3.3.14 it is no longer possible to check the version numbers.

Failed to obtain latest version information.

The operation could not be completed because the fsockopen function has been disabled or the server being queried could not be found.

Similar old threads advise "contact your host". (now done).

But has something changed in 3.3.14 that justifies this ? Because on 3.3.13 I don't have this problem.


Automatic update package used (due to custom changes. I have been using it for years.)
No errors, yet on the forum or errorlog
Database server: MySQL(i) 10.6.18-MariaDB-cll-lve-log
php version: 8.3.12
board version: 3.3.14
